Trick or Treat!

Our trick or treating started close to home.  We headed across the street to see Betty, and she (ever so generously) had a special surprise for Jakob...a new Cars car!  She did an amazing job picking one he didn't already have, which is tough, since he's got a lot of them.  Then we walked to the Detweiler's house, and just our luck, Eli was there!  The boys enjoyed the quick play date before we drove to the Village for the real trick or treating.  The fire department had three guys in gear and a firetruck, and they were handing out hot chocolate and candy and directing traffic.  We had a comfortably cool and clear night, so the Village was packed with kids and adults!  It was a blast going to a few houses, and Jakob was pretty jazzed about the whole experience.  He definitely loved saying trick or treat, and he was bold enough after a few times to try to enter people's houses, ha!

And we're off!
Thanks, Betty!  This is a great treat!
What?  No candy for me?
Just a quick walk to the Detweiler's house
TRICK OR TREAT!  Oh!  Eli is here!  That is a treat!
Just me, Grandpa, and the Man in the Moon for this picture
Come on, Grandma.  We don't even have to knock to get candy at this house.
Reaching into this bowl for a treat seems harmless enough....
...A TRICK!  The hand snapped down and scared me!  Don't worry, I got over my surprise quickly and went back for a candy.
Mommy worked some serious tricks to get me into my car seat in this getup.
