Frilly

Image
Dan was a bit shocked when I brought Everleigh down one morning in the outfit below.  According to Dan, the outfit was "very frilly," which he wasn't expecting.  Time to wrap your mind around girl clothes, Daddy! I like my tutu I also like tummy time See, I'm all smiles?  More smiles!  Mommy is doing good work with the camera today. Yup, even more Back on my back, but I'm still happy

The Detweilers Visit

Image
I finally got to meet Scott! I like Meg's new haircut!  I like to keep mine short too. We played perfectly, and I shared like a pro!

Wooly Bear Season

Image
The other day I took Jakob outside to look for wooly bears.  He was very excited when we found one, even though he didn't want to touch it.  Inside the house, we have a little wooly bear of our own.  An adorable, pink one. I'm happy to be a warm, wooly bear cub I want a bear hug

Overalls

Image
Yeah, we liked those overalls so much we put Jakob in them all weekend.  :-) Computing in overalls Snacking in overalls Blasting off in overalls Reading in overalls

Boyden Valley

Image
Dan took Jakob to Boyden Valley vineyard last Saturday for their fall harvest festival.  They were the first ones to get there, so Jakob had free reign over the place before other kids and families arrived.  He loved playing on their swing set, riding on the horse drawn carriage, and sampling chocolate. I'm feeling ambitious I like these big ones best I'm a pumpkin patch kid I want all of these What's over there? You coming, Daddy? This is the coolest "swing" ever! A swing with a view Tractor time Time to climb the playground This is so much fun I need to take time to ponder while I'm in this lovely setting Oh yes, I need to do that Hay ride time! These overalls are perfect for today I'm having such a good time I'm willing to roll around That chocolate was tasty, so I saved some around my mouth for later

Everleigh's 4 Month Appointment

Image
Everleigh had her 4 month doctor's appointment yesterday, and she did great!  She's in the 50th percentile for length, weight, and head circumference (goodbye, bobble head!), and she's meeting all of her developmental milestones.  She giggled and babbled the whole time the doctor was examining her, proving true my statement to him that she's a very happy baby.  She didn't love the 3 shots she had to get, but she only cried for about 10 seconds.  Although a bit more sleepy than normal yesterday, she doesn't seem too "off" today. Happy baby, even after shots Giving new meaning to the "got your nose" game Even Kenya likes to be swaddled

Making Pouches

Image
I'm back on the baby food making bandwagon!  Since it's still a little early for me to make and freeze some for Everleigh (they aren't supposed to be frozen for more than 2 months, and I'm shooting for exclusive nursing until she's 6 months), I figured I would give it a try with homemade applesauce for Jakob.  The cooking apples made the house smell wonderful, and it was fun having Jakob help me fill his pouches. So this is a plunger?  I thought plungers were only for bathroom stuff.   Time to fill the pouches It works!

Thanks, Grandma!

Morning Tattoo, Pictures, and Pickles

Image
Grandma Hall brought Jakob a temporary tattoo of a dinosaur, and the first thing he wanted when he woke up was to check it out.  I was a little worried he would freak out because it couldn't come off immediately like a sticker, but he totally loved it! I'm holding still while Daddy applies my first tattoo   I'm so cool! Check it out, Mommy! A picture of my picture being taken?! That's a lot of flashbulbs I'm willing to share a bit of my pickle with you, Grandma But I'll be finishing it myself Nothing like pickles before 9 a.m.  It runs in the Musson side family!
