Looks like we'll have to get the gate back out, because after she realized she could make it up the stairs, it was all she wanted to do. The only way we could distract her was to let her walk around in the gigantic puddles tonight. After a couple of hours of heavy rain, we had near-Hurricane Irene flooding in our area. Fortunately our house and property were fine, but the sump pump is running almost every minute, and it looked like we were surrounded by a moat. With under a week until our closing, we were very nervous!
