Happy Halloween!

Image
The kids had lots of fun wearing Halloween gear this week!  Grandma and Grandpa Janelle are on their way to Vermont right now to celebrate with us, and tomorrow we're meeting up with Uncle Brian and Aunt Kim at the Trapp Lodge in Stowe.  What a fun weekend! Today is Monday, and I'm a spooky spider I've got a new orange shirt, an orange cup, and orange slices I made a J for Jakob! Today is Tuesday, and I'm all smiles Now it's Thursday, and I'm not sick of Halloween shirts yet!

Jakob is 2.5 Years Old!

Our little man turned two and a half years old yesterday, and although I'm a day late with this post, I didn't want to let the milestone pass by without acknowledging it.  It's been a bit of a wild ride with him over the past few weeks as his emotional swings have been extreme.  One minute he's his usual hilarious self (like asking me and Dan how our work days were, answering "Daniel Jakob" when I ask him what his middle name is, or making up adorable songs about grandpa sharks), and the next minute he's in the midst of a full-fledged toddler tantrum.  But the one constant throughout it all is how much we love him, and how proud we are of how loving he is with Everleigh.  Considering how quickly these two and a half years have flown by, it's only a matter of time before his occasional toddler terrorist days are in the rear view mirror and we're laughing about how he objected vehemently to taking a bath, only to protest just as passionately when we

Showing Everleigh the Pumpkin

Image
Everleigh slept through our pumpkin carving adventure, so we brought it inside to show her when she woke up.  Also, as you can see, we had to devise a way to prop the front up a little bit. Now he's ready to show his face to the world You mean I missed the whole thing?! That's okay, I'm happy just to see the finished product!

Pumpkin Carving

Image
We carved a pumpkin two weekends ago, and Jakob loved being a part of it for the first time! T is for Trouble, which is what that pumpkin is in for! Hmm, I'm a little worried I might get my hands messy I'd rather use a spoon to scoop out the seeds Here you go, Mommy.  More seeds to roast! This is so much fun! Time to remove the mouth Nice looking grin Does raw pumpkin taste good?  No, it does not. He looks great! My first time carving was a huge success!

Traveling with young kids isn't easy, but all things considered, our trip back to Vermont could have been much tougher. No screaming and some smiles...win!
