Playdate with Stella and Meeting Baby Max

We had a wonderful playdate with Stella the morning of the wedding.  Now that she's a big girl (two already!), she was great at sharing with Jakob, showing him how to use her toys, and giving me the grand tour of her bedroom.  I also got a chance to hold and snuggle Liz and Tom's new baby boy, Max.  He's such a handsome, alert little guy.  Once he gets a bit bigger, I'm sure he and Jakob will have a lot of fun playing too!

All that fun playing made me tired
I'll just use Zoey as a leg rest...she's very soft and comfy

First Poop on the Potty!

I apologize that this whole post will qualify as TMI (and sorry, future Jakob, for the embarrassment it'll inevitably cause), but this is a big day in our house.  After I left for work today, Jakob went poop in his potty for the first time!  Dan noticed him straining and asked if he wanted to sit on the potty.  For the first time, Jakob said "uh huh," let Dan undress him, and sat on his potty until he was "all done."  He tried to flush it down about 10 times and was rather confused that it stayed in place, as opposed to what he sees the normal potty do, but he was VERY proud of himself nevertheless.  He said "Jakey did it" the whole way to daycare, and he even tried to go again when we got home.   We certainly don't expect this to be the new normal in our house, but we're very excited and proud of the little guy anyway.  Way to go Jakob on this big (although little, as you can see in the picture) milestone! Playtime!

Jakob is loving his bouncer!  He's hilarious to watch when he's in it, because he gets such a serious look on his face when he's playing, and he refuses to straighten out his legs and instead just dangles in the seat. Tomorrow we've got his four month doctor's appointment.  I'm certain they're going to say he's healthy and doing a great job growing and developing, but like last time, I'm so nervous for his shots.  Keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't have any adverse reactions! Having all this fun is serious business Mom, please don't bother me.  Can't you see I've got playing to do?! So intriguing! Reading with Daddy is fun too. This Doctor Seuss guy is a wacko, but I like his style!
