We've upgraded Jakob's van car seat to a toddler seat, which eventually we'll have forward facing. For now, he'll enjoy more space in a rear facing position. Looks comfy!
On Sunday afternoon we headed across the street for our buddy Eli's first birthday party. Jakob had fun playing with Eli's toys, including his crawling tube and the new stuffed fish he got as a present. Into the tube... ...And out! I like this rainbow trout Maybe I'll try to take it home with me Hopefully Daddy catches one this big next spring
It's funny what you forget (and how quickly) as a parent. It seems like every new milestone Everleigh hits reminds me of Jakob doing it, but it's almost always a reminder, and less often something I'm anticipating. Thank goodness for this blog so I can dig up memories! Anyway, one thing Jakob LOVED to do when he got mobile enough to get himself to it was pull our CDs and photo albums off the shelf we've got next to the TV. I remember thinking back then that we should totally get rid of it, but we never did because it covers up some wires (which he would inevitably have pulled on). Turns out this is one of Everleigh's new favorite things to do. What's funny about it this time around is that Jakob likes to scold her, even though he still likes to pull his Disney DVDs off the top shelf. Don't mind me. Just perusing Mommy and Daddy's selection of music. You caught me! It looks like I'm already behind bars from this view.
As I mentioned last week, we headed to upstate NY on Thanksgiving day for a weekend of fun. Because we traveled on Thursday, we had the big meal on Friday, but that didn't stop Everleigh from showing off her new eating skills the first night. She loved having different helpers spoon her the sweet potatoes, and Jakob enjoyed having someone other than Dan and me chase him around to get him into his PJs. Grandpa Hall is first in line to feed me tonight I'm thankful for sweet potatoes! You're next, Grandma Janelle Last but not least, Uncle Travis got his turn. Good thing I was still hungry! I can't wait to meet my cousin, Aunt Jaimie Corn and peas...two of my favorite things to eat It took her a while, but I finally let Grandma Janelle get me dressed
