This Breakfast is Bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Image
On to bananas!  Despite his face in these pictures, Jakob willingly ate them.  He seems a bit opposed to each new food we give him, but he definitely gets used to them after a few tries and doesn't mind them then.  Except avocados.  :-) We're off to CT this afternoon for Grandpa Janelle's 60th birthday party and cousin Kelly's bridal shower.  There should be LOTS of great pictures next week since we'll see so many people and have two big events to celebrate! I've got my eyes on you, Daddy, so no funny business with my breakfast YIKES, it's something new again! Should I spit this out? On second thought, I think I like this!

7 Months!

Image
I know I say this every month, but seriously, time flies!  Jakob and I had such a fabulous day together in celebration of his seven month birthday.  We spent lots of time playing, went to the play group at Huntington's library, and did lots of laughing.  Happy seven month birthday, Little Man! Mommy, wow!  I'm a big boy now! The bears and I decided to coordinate our colors a bit today I can't wait to get these pictures over so we can play I've been working on (gumming) the railroad Well they can't all be happy pictures, can they? Our sweet little angel

Playing

Image
Sadly work has been getting in the way of the regularity of my blog posts, but hopefully these pictures and videos will make up for the lull in the action over the past few days.  Clothing is optional for this round of playing Hanging with Sophie and Holden

All Pruney

Image
Okay, so perhaps prunes aren't a typical fruit to start with, but Jakob sort of likes them. This doesn't look like cereal This doesn't taste like cereal At least it doesn't look or taste like avocado!

Water Baby

Amazingly, it took us nearly seven months to get Jakob into a pool.  Too bad we waited so long, because he loved it from the very first minute we got in.  Perhaps swimming is genetic.  :-) I've got my swimming suit on, and I'm so excited to take the plunge Make sure we've got enough towels, Daddy YAAAAY! That is the biggest bathtub ever Here I come, Mommy! Phelps should be getting nervous Swimming is the best! Doing my best back float Motor boat, motor boat, go so fast Grandpa is helping me kick my feet Tasting the chlorine on my fingers...not so yummy I'm having SO much fun! Watching my toes splash around is mesmerizing We're going to have to make this a regular part of our playtime routine on weekends

Post-Thanksgiving Day Relaxing

Image
After a huge feast on Friday, Saturday morning was a bit more laid back at our house (except, of course, for the Da Da extravaganza, captured in yesterday's video). With my lovely ladies I opted for a profile shot for this group picture to show off my versatility Do you think a nice pair of glasses would make me look smarter? Aren't we photogenic?!

Da Da!

It's official...we have Jakob's first word.  It's Da Da!!!

Turkey Time

Image
Lasagna on Thursday evening was delicious (just like the Italian Pilgrims?), but the main event of turkey frying on Friday lived up to expectations. I'm too cute to be the main course! Turkey butt Down to just my onesie because the fire is burning hot-hot-hot With Great Grandma, Mommy, and Zoey (who is being such a good girl) The big boys are outside frying the turkey while I entertain the ladies inside Sure wish I could have some of that turkey.  Next year!

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!

Happy Thanksgiving!  We have so many things to be thankful for, particularly family members that are such good friends and friends that are like family.  It goes without saying that we're incredibly blessed to have our little man in our lives...healthy, happy, and growing.  Actually, it was last Thanksgiving that we told both sets of soon-to-be grandparents that we were expecting, so this is a very special weekend for us.  This year we're hosting Grandma and Grandpa Janelle, and Great Grandma!  We aren't having turkey until tomorrow, but we're having lots and lots of fun already today. Hi Great Grandma! Grandma is doing a pretty good job feeding me, but she needs to hurry that spoon up! I love this orange cup I love Great Grandma and chewing on my fists Daddy has his new Brew Master hat on...I don't know how I feel about it Grandma made me my first placemat.  I'll probably try to put it in my mouth later.

Comfy and Cozy

Image
Jakob was so comfy and cozy in his knit onesie over the weekend! Mommy and I have horizontal stripes! Cool weather doesn't bother me in this outfit I'm making other Vermont babies jealous with my cool gear

Sophie!

Now that he's a little bigger, has better coordination with his hands, fingers, and mouth, and is teething a little, Jakob has fallen in love with his Sophie toy again. It's a perfect fit Hmm, which end do I want to chomp on? Nom nom nom I wouldn't mind a side of sweet potatoes with my Sophie
