Build a Bear

This was an absolutely fun and adorable experience.  Jakob loved picking out his own animal (Jakey the Giraffe, as we call him), and he was delighted to be a part of creating his new special friend.

I choose a giraffe!
I love my new friend already, even before he's filled with stuffing
Did you know you can add sound to your animal?  Mommy passed on this option.  But I played "Let It Go" about 8 times before moving on to the next step.
I'm stepping on the pedal to help stuff my giraffe
They told me to jump up and down twice so my giraffe always shares my adventures
Then I rubbed two red, satin hearts on my tummy so my giraffe likes all of my favorite foods
Next I rubbed the hearts on my head so my giraffe thinks about the same things I do
And I rubbed the hearts on my heart so my giraffe loves what I love
Next up, rubbing the hearts on my nose so we like smelling the same things
And I gently rubbed the hearts on my eyes so my giraffe shares my dreams
Last but not least, I gave the hearts a kiss so my giraffe knows I love it
Time to stuff the hearts into my giraffe and have it sewed up!
Bath time for Jakey!
Dry him off and put him in his home
I'm going to make a special animal when I'm three too!
Time to take Jakey home with me

First Poop on the Potty!

I apologize that this whole post will qualify as TMI (and sorry, future Jakob, for the embarrassment it'll inevitably cause), but this is a big day in our house.  After I left for work today, Jakob went poop in his potty for the first time!  Dan noticed him straining and asked if he wanted to sit on the potty.  For the first time, Jakob said "uh huh," let Dan undress him, and sat on his potty until he was "all done."  He tried to flush it down about 10 times and was rather confused that it stayed in place, as opposed to what he sees the normal potty do, but he was VERY proud of himself nevertheless.  He said "Jakey did it" the whole way to daycare, and he even tried to go again when we got home.   We certainly don't expect this to be the new normal in our house, but we're very excited and proud of the little guy anyway.  Way to go Jakob on this big (although little, as you can see in the picture) milestone! Playtime!

Jakob is loving his bouncer!  He's hilarious to watch when he's in it, because he gets such a serious look on his face when he's playing, and he refuses to straighten out his legs and instead just dangles in the seat. Tomorrow we've got his four month doctor's appointment.  I'm certain they're going to say he's healthy and doing a great job growing and developing, but like last time, I'm so nervous for his shots.  Keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't have any adverse reactions! Having all this fun is serious business Mom, please don't bother me.  Can't you see I've got playing to do?! So intriguing! Reading with Daddy is fun too. This Doctor Seuss guy is a wacko, but I like his style!
