Jakob Lost His First Tooth!

I just got off the phone with the little man, calling from his school's office.  Despite how exciting this would be for lots of kids, it's been really stressing him out, and he had a super tough day.  Last night he bit into something that made it hurt and made it much more wiggly, and he spent most the evening obsessing about when it would come out.  That carried into the morning, and he wanted his breakfast torn into tiny pieces so he could just chew it with his back teeth.  According to the secretary (who is as kind as a saint!), when she saw him earlier today he was really struggling, and now that it's out, she thought it would calm him down if he could talk to me.  He said he popped it out because it was wiggling and he got a special box from the nurse.  (As an aside, thank goodness he didn't swallow the tooth!  I can only imagine his stress level if that had happened.)  After the secretary came back on to explain things, he took the phone back, said "Mom, it's a baby tooth."  Then he handed her the phone and walked out of the office to go back to his after school program.  Hopefully that's a sign he's settling down a bit.  Pictures to come tomorrow!
