Wyatt's 2nd Birthday Party

Our buddy Wyatt was born on the 4th of July, so we headed to the Nagurney's house that evening for his awesome dinosaur themed party.

I got to touch some of Wyatt's new chickens
We got fun party favors that made us look like dinosaurs.  I almost immediately broke mine, but it was fun while it lasted.
Holding me on Wyatt's 2nd birthday is making Becky and Greg feel a bit nostalgic (although possibly not, ha!)
I need a little Daddy time amidst all this excitement
I only have so much patience while waiting for cake
Let me help you blow out the candle on that great cake
Mmm, homemade frosting is SO GOOD
Wyatt and I are being silly in the window sill

Wyatt was so excited about his play dough present from us that he opened it right away
We also got him these awesome blocks that Daddy built into a tower
I'm going to knock over that tower
I like knocking it over...
...a LOT!

Don't be fooled, I'm not helping build.  I'm just using my hands to knock this one over.

We all enjoyed climbing on him.  He slept well after this!

First Poop on the Potty!

I apologize that this whole post will qualify as TMI (and sorry, future Jakob, for the embarrassment it'll inevitably cause), but this is a big day in our house.  After I left for work today, Jakob went poop in his potty for the first time!  Dan noticed him straining and asked if he wanted to sit on the potty.  For the first time, Jakob said "uh huh," let Dan undress him, and sat on his potty until he was "all done."  He tried to flush it down about 10 times and was rather confused that it stayed in place, as opposed to what he sees the normal potty do, but he was VERY proud of himself nevertheless.  He said "Jakey did it" the whole way to daycare, and he even tried to go again when we got home.   We certainly don't expect this to be the new normal in our house, but we're very excited and proud of the little guy anyway.  Way to go Jakob on this big (although little, as you can see in the picture) milestone! Playtime!

Jakob is loving his bouncer!  He's hilarious to watch when he's in it, because he gets such a serious look on his face when he's playing, and he refuses to straighten out his legs and instead just dangles in the seat. Tomorrow we've got his four month doctor's appointment.  I'm certain they're going to say he's healthy and doing a great job growing and developing, but like last time, I'm so nervous for his shots.  Keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't have any adverse reactions! Having all this fun is serious business Mom, please don't bother me.  Can't you see I've got playing to do?! So intriguing! Reading with Daddy is fun too. This Doctor Seuss guy is a wacko, but I like his style!
