Jakob Daniel and Everleigh Grace Hall

Yay for Friday and a long weekend.  We're planning to take Jakob to camp at Lake Dunmore tomorrow night, so keep your fingers crossed for a night without crying.  :-)  We hope you all enjoy the holiday weekend! Hmm, how am I going to get this in my mouth? I'm mad at you for giving me a toy that's too big for my mouth. Well, I'm still gonna give it the ole college try! Too bad you missed it when I had one of the end pieces in my mouth! Phew, a toy I can definitely fit in!

Our little man turned four months yesterday!  He got a perfect day for it, with no humidity, tons of sunshine, and temps in the low 70s.  In honor of his day (and Daddy's completion of a huge, important project at work) we took a stroll up Mt. Philo. Time for these bears again, eh?! They're no match for me, now that I'm getting so big! I get my good looks from Daddy! Hiking is easy...all you have to do is sit in your stroller! I love to dangle like a monkey! Happy birthday to ME! We can be such angels I want to go swimming in Lake Champlain! Like his Mommy, Jakob hates to have his feet covered by blankets when he sleeps, so he'll kick them around until they're out.  He's getting a LOT more vocal now too! Let my toesies go! So tiny

As you can see in this video, Jakob is getting really close to rolling over.  Last night I checked on him at 11 and found that he had spun himself around in his crib and was even farther up on his side than he was in this video.  I watched him for almost an hour and he never made the full roll, but it's coming soon!

Yesterday before the BBQ we put together Jakob's Exersaucer.  He isn't quite ready for it yet, but he LOVED it when Dan helped him bounce up and down in it! Whoa....lots of stimulation here You mean I can play with ALL these toys?! I love bouncing!!! Kenya wants in on the action too

Our friends are coming over for a BBQ this afternoon, so there should be should fun shots from that tomorrow.  Dan took a great picture and video of Jakob trying to chew on his Sophie giraffe this morning as he gets ready for the party tonight. Tastes like chicken

Yesterday was another gorgeous day of late summer weather in Vermont, and Jakob and I took advantage of it by getting some fresh air in the afternoon. We took Jakob out to dinner at Farmhouse Tap & Grill in Burlington yesterday, after Dan took him for a nice hour long walk in the stroller.  This morning, Jakob showed off his moves in a new set of PJs. I think it's obvious who dressed me today Who's a Yankees fan?  I AM! I wish I could have a burger at Farmhouse Loving the doggies on my PJs Good morning! I love sitting with Daddy And I love standing too! Nothing is as fun a flying!

Whether or not he's teething, pre-teething, or just likes to chew on his hands, Jakob enjoyed sticking the cooled teething rings in his mouth: A toy designed to go in my mouth?  I didn't realize they all weren't supposed to go in there! What is this device? I better take a good, hard look at it. Will it pass the mouth test? Actually, I like this so much I want Mommy to stick one in my mouth while I hold onto another one!

I suppose our opinion on the cutest baby of them all is a bit biased.  :-) Check it out!  I've got a friend in here! Did you see my buddy?! Pooh was in his mouth moments before I took this...maybe it's time to get the teething rings that Maya and Kendall Raley sent out!

In keeping with our excellent tradition of exposing Jakob to the workings and creations of adult libations (breweries and home brewing thus far,) yesterday we took him to Lincoln Peak Vineyards in Middlebury for a tasting, glass of wine, picnic, and to listen to live music.  Although Jakob didn't have any of the surprisingly good (especially for Vermont) wine, he made lots of friends with all the ladies and seemed to dig the Canadian music trio's use of French.
