Grandma and Grandpa Hall come to Vermont

Image
Grandma and Grandpa Hall came to visit us last weekend, and it was wonderful to see them!  As usual, Everleigh charmed her Grandpa, and Jakob amused them with all sorts of activity and action. Don't I look fancy in my new shirt? It even has a little bow I love getting Grandpa snuggles After all the action, I like to wind down with Grandma and Grandpa and Bob the Builder

The Return of Purple Starfish

Image
Back in the day, Jakob loved using his Exersaucer.  He had a love/hate relationship with the purple starfish, and eventually I took it off because the edges were a little sharp and he just couldn't keep his hands and face away from it.  Taking a page out of Jakob's book, Everleigh has enjoyed her first couple of times in the Exersaucer, although she's still a bit young for it.  She was immediately fascinated by the purple starfish...must run in the family! I've heard all about you from Jakob! There's a lot of fun things to look at on this toy That fish is pretty nifty I'm peeking around to see you, Mommy I'll just give this a spin This is fun!

Hopping Again

We made it with all three kids from Pine Street to Church Street last weekend.  I couldn't believe Jakob and Graham were willing and able to walk that far, and they certainly worked up an appetite.  They each enjoyed a slice of pizza while Gabe, Carrie, and I had sandwiches.  Amazingly, both boys stayed in their seats the whole time we ate lunch, probably thanks to all the people and dog watching they were able to do from our outside patio seats.  As a treat for being so good, we stopped and got everyone some treats from Lake Champlain Chocolate.  Jakob was in my arms and Carrie's arms the whole walk home, and he slept well that night! Despite how green the water in the fountain is, I still want to go swimming But I listened to Mommy and just looked with my eyes at the fountain Lunch time!   What's the soup d'jour?  I'll just have pizza. I'm hungry! Good thing I saved a little bit of room for this tasty treat Mmm, that's the goo...

South End Art Hop

Image
Last weekend Jakob and I went to the south end of Burlington to meet up with the Gilmans at the Art Hop.  It was a gorgeous day, and I was so happy to get a full morning with just my little man.  Dan has been mainly on Jakob duty these past few months, but now that Everleigh is slightly less dependent on me and takes longer morning naps, I was ready to cash in on some quality time with Jakob.  He and Graham listened so well, and Jakob actually enjoyed looking at some of the sculptures.  Good thing this is cool looking, because I stepped in the dog poop behind me to get to it It comes in yellow too (but this one was poop free) Carrie is rewarding me with a chocolate chip for listening so well during our walk I like this sculpture because it looks like a cat I'm not just appreciating the art today, I'm also appreciating my friend This is one huuuuge piece of art

You Know You Live with a Toddler: Nap Edition

Image
I have a feeling this type of post may become more common on this blog.  :-)  Apparently not even nap time is a dull moment in our house, because Thursday afternoon I went upstairs to wake Jakob up and found him completely undressed.  Why did he do it?  Wasn't he chilly?  Was he totally naked?  (The only answer to those questions that I know is no, he was not totally naked, it just looked that way at first with the random and perfect placement of the snowman stuffed animal.) Almost naked and on the floor right next to the gate "I need a little more sleep, Mommy.  I grumpy."
