Jakob Daniel and Everleigh Grace Hall

I found a cool octopus sprinkler at Christmas Tree Shop for Jakob, just in time for the hot weather.  It was a steal at just $4.  Unfortunately, it broke after one use.  You get what you pay for, but Jakob did enjoy it while it lasted, so it was worth the $4! Hot fun in the summertime Watch out, here comes the water! Sprinklers are a great way to have fun and cool off! Maybe Mommy will need to get a few more of these!

We got a play mat for Everleigh so she has something a bit more exciting to look at than the ceiling.  She doesn't exactly love it yet, but I'm sure she'll learn to love it.  Like I said, it is more exciting than the ceiling.  :-) I can't wait until I'm big and strong enough to use the bouncer

Everleigh had a few important "firsts" over the weekend.  Without a doubt, the most important and life changing one was when Dan got her to use the pacifier for the first time on Friday night.  Since about the start of July, she had been having increasingly intense and long-lived fussy periods in the evening.  By Friday night, there was almost always an hour of crying, followed by needing to be rocked for what felt like forever, then -- if we had a miracle -- she would finally fall asleep by 10 or 11.  Not good for our psyche, Jakob's sleep, or Everleigh's overall wellbeing.  Once Dan got her to use the pacifier, we popped it in on Saturday night and enjoyed a night with no crying.  The evening fussiness is infinitely better, to the point where she barely fusses at all.  In fact, the situation is so much improved that she fell asleep on her own in her bassinet for the first time last night.  Ironically, this was a lot of work for us too, because...

Our buddy Wyatt was born on the 4th of July, so we headed to the Nagurney's house that evening for his awesome dinosaur themed party. I got to touch some of Wyatt's new chickens We got fun party favors that made us look like dinosaurs.  I almost immediately broke mine, but it was fun while it lasted. Holding me on Wyatt's 2nd birthday is making Becky and Greg feel a bit nostalgic (although possibly not, ha!)
