Happy birthday, Daddy!!!

Image
As promised, here's one of Jakob's new outfits...just in time for Dan's birthday! Phew, I thought I'd have to go to daycare in a diaper after yesterday's prolonged naked time I'm showing off my standing skills to celebrate Daddy's birthday today!!  I love you Daddy!! See how I scraped my lip this weekend when I fell?  I think it makes me look tough and cool (just like Daddy is.)

Changing

Jakob had pretty much grown out of the slew of clothes currently in his drawers, so Sunday morning we started our day bright and early by swapping out the old with a new set of bigger clothes.  It was really bittersweet to pack up some shirts that we were particularly excited about when he initially fit into them, but luckily we have tons of new, equally adorable outfits to be excited about! I have this high worth of clothes to throw around the room.  That's a lot.  Good thing we started this project early! Break time with Owl Babies! Are there any clothes in this drawer that you can dress me in while we do this?! Taking another break with my banana/mango pouch.  Mommy said something about needing to be able to take her eyes off me for a few seconds to get stuff put away.  Apparently she doesn't like my idea of chasing the cats, throwing the clothes, and ripping all the books off the shelves.  We clearly have different ideas of fun right...

Holden, my hands are so sticky! Clean them off, please I don't want kisses though Phone's ringing.  You gonna answer it, or should I? Hello?  This is Jakob speaking...

Happy St. Pat's

Image
It's Jakob's first St. Patrick's Day, and he and I were happy to dress the part.  (Sure, these pictures were from Wednesday, but that was the last day Jakob and I had daycare and work before St. Patrick's Day.)  Our little leprechaun is the only lucky charm we need to have a great weekend! I like to sham rock! Maybe if I chew Mommy's badge she won't be able to go to work Irish and proud! I didn't say "Kiss me, I'm Irish" WHERE ARE ME LUCKY CHARMS?! I don't need any luck to stand up on my own

Loving the Sunshine

I'm sure there are lots of drum circles I can join in Vermont Using this mallet makes my drumming so much louder...yay! Scoping out the scene I see redwing blackbirds!

Waving Bye-Bye

Image
We took Jakob to our favorite Turkish restaurant for lunch today, and older women at two separate tables spent most the afternoon fawning over him.  Apparently Jakob enjoyed the attention, because as we were leaving, he waved good-bye to them...his first time waving good-bye!  Later when we were playing, he pulled himself into the standing position on a bunch of new things such as me, our back door, and the magazine rack.  Then, I asked him where certain toys were, and he was able to identify his giraffe Sophie, his train, and his ducks.  Talk about an amazing day full of progress!  We're so proud of him!! I found you, Starfish.   You're still my nemesis, even after all this time I emptied all my toys out of my bucket ...so I could bang on it like a drum BA BA BA BA GUUUUU!!!!

Quick Visit to Newington

Image
Thanks to the weather, our trip down to Newington was shortened to just one night.  Despite not having as much time there as we wanted, we managed to cram in a ton of fun.  Grandma and Grandpa Janelle got Jakob a set of wooden music toys, we took long stroller rides to enjoy the warm weather, we had dinner with Great Grandma, and we took a trip to Stew Leonard's to check out the people and the entertainment.  The highlight of the trip had to be Jakob's first time eating a little bit of vanilla frozen yogurt.  He never showed an extreme reaction to it like we expected he would, but he repeatedly stuck his face into it and grabbed the cone with his hands.  It was hilarious! Cool operator I may look disheveled, but that's just me being an eccentric musical genius I'm the lyrical gangster Shake shake shake Wooden mallets, metal triangles, and wood blocks...oh my! I'm getting the band back together Snuggles with Grandma and Zoey Grandp...
