We let the kids open their gifts from Aunt Jaimie, Uncle Travis, and Kenzie when we got home from skating, and Dan gave them some GI Joe gear that he had when he was a kid.  They were all big hits!  Then it was time to write a note to Santa, read Twas the Night Before Christmas and The Polar Express, and get some sleep!

To kick off our Christmas celebrations, we took the kids up to the Stowe Mountain Resort on Christmas Eve for some skating at their gorgeous outdoor rink.  We got to take the gondola back and forth, the kids really enjoyed their time on the ice, and we had some of the best hot chocolate ever during our break.  The gentle snow that fell while we skated really made the whole thing feel magical!

Not exactly how I envisioned them playing with those toys, but they had a blast hahaha!
