We had a very busy and exciting weekend!  Saturday we spent almost the whole day outside having fun.  Richmond had to postpone their 4th of July celebrations earlier this summer thanks to the horrible weather, but we had a perfect day on Saturday for the parade.  Jakob was excited to play on the playground, but once the trucks started coming up the street, he hardly blinked he was so thrilled.  He even did the baby sign language sign for "more" when there was a little break in the action! This wobbly bridge is such a hoot Daddy and I are having some bonding time on the swing I can't wait to show the trucks my truck Look. At. All. These. Trucks. One float handed out popsicles.  Good call! This is the best 4th of July to happen in August ever!

Officially a morning person

But after eating a PB&J, you definitely can't take Jakob out! This sandwich is so good it feels like I'm dreaming Mmm! Time to shove some more into my mouth You can't contain this mess I said you CAN'T contain this mess, so don't try wiping me down! I'll just hide behind my milk cup to avoid being cleaned up

Grandpa Janelle gave Jakob some serious putting lessons Sunday morning. So I need to line up the putter with the firetruck? It's in the hole!! Time to hone my hand-eye coordination Bang bang bang Time for more reading before Grandpa and Zoey go back to Newington

The Huntington River Vineyard had an event this weekend, so we went over to sample some wines and enjoy the evening.  Turns out they had a musician, and he was crazy enough to let Jakob strum on his guitar for a while. Even though this place isn't BYOB, I brought my own water bottle  Apparently cheese goes well with wine.  I'll stick with just the cheese for the next 20 years. Want to read with me, Grandpa? There's the pig, and there's the cow... I'm ready to get on the stage and perform Mommy, do you think he takes requests?  I could go for some Wheels on the Bus.

While Grandma Janelle is away (in San Diego), Grandpa Janelle and Zoey come to play!  We had such a fun weekend walking, playing, checking out a Huntington winery, BBQing, hanging at the river, and reading.
